A guide to Glenwood Springs downtown bar scene.

A guide to Glenwood Springs downtown bar scene.

Here is an introduction to the 4 main downtown bars that every local and visitor alike can frequent in Glenwood Springs. The days in Glenwood are filled with outdoor recreation, whether you’re hitting the slopes at Sunlight Mountain Resort or enjoying the Hot Springs Pool. But what happens when the sun goes down. How do you enjoy Glenwood late night? Here is a quick guide to this little mountain town’s little downtown bars.

Springs Bar & Grill

Let’s start with a classic. The Springs boasts a food menu from 11am till 10pm daily and one of the best classic burgers in town. They are open till 2am, 7 days a week which can sometimes be hard to find in a small town. They have a juke box and 9 big screen TVs, which play NFL football games and feature special events as well. The atmosphere is set by a beautiful 100 year old back bar and barn wood floors.

Doc Holliday’s Tavern

Right next door to Springs is its sister bar called Doc Holliday’s, it’s hard to miss with it’s 20 foot neon pistol. Also offering a full menu and family friendly atmosphere till 10pm, this bar has an old west feel. Who knows, perhaps you could be enjoying a drink in the same spot the man himself did.

Glenwood Canyon Brewing Co

The Brewpubas it’s known by the locals, has been producing awarding winning craft beers for over 20 years. It’s delicious menu attacks new and old guests alike. The perfect place to grab a pint while watching the game. More of a restaurant than a late night party bar it’s the perfect place to start your evening off.

Loyal Brothers Lounge

The newest member of the downtown bar scene, which has had its fair share of bars come and go, Loyal Brothers seems here to stay. They have a distinctly different vibe than the other bars downtown and a welcome one when it comes to late night fun. Often having DJ’s and dance parties in addition to specialty cocktails and UFC fight nights.

BONUS: 19th Street Diner

The 19th Street Diner is one of our favorite places…… It’s the kind of place only a small mountain town could love. Serving up drinks and breakfast as well as late night shenanigans. The diner is the perfect place to head “the morning after the night before” when hair of the dog is just what the doctor ordered. Their website says it best, “Yes, Bloody Marys do count as a vegetable!” Not to mention a killer breakfast menu that is sure to help you recover.

Don’t forget to book your room before you hit the town at the Affordable Inns, where you can enjoy a straight forward room at a reasonable price. Cheers!
